Doors Open 2026 - May 9 & 10

Doors Open Minneapolis is back again for 2026! If you participated last year, you’ll know we had a great weekend of sketching behind the scenes at some amazing spaces. 

May 9th-10th, Urban Sketchers Twin Cities will be hosting two sketch outings as part of the official activities associated with Doors Open Minneapolis 2026. Sketching activities will be sponsored by Wet Paint. Again this year, we will have morning sketch walks on both days of the festival. We hope you enjoy our two official sketching locations and take time to explore the 75+ other venues that are part of the fun.

Our Saturday venue is MacPhail Center for Music, a "light-filled destination where music and art fill every floor." Get ready for live music and cool architecture. On Sunday, we're headed to the beautifully refurbished historic Hennepin Arts Pantages Theatre. We'll kick things off each day with a brief welcome and share a bit of history about each location. We'll wrap up by sharing our sketches and taking a group photo.

Saturday, May 9th, 10:00am-12:30pm: MacPhail Center for Music

• Meeting Point at 10am: US Bank lobby on Level 2 (501 S 2nd St, Minneapolis, MN 55401)

• Sketch sharing and throwdown at the meeting point at 12:15pm.

Sunday, May 10th, 11:00m-1:30pm: Hennepin Arts PantagesTheatre (note: later start time on Sunday)

• Meeting Point at 11am: rear of the theatre. (710 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55401)

• Share sharing and throwdown at the meeting point at 1:15pm.
