Bakken Show Sketch Pick Up and Upcoming Events!

If you had sketches in the Bakken Show-- Here are updates: Jodi says you may donate your sketches for the Bakken's yearly fundraiser. You may contact her at jodijanzart@yahoo.com if you'd like to do that. Otherwise, pick up your sketches on Wednesday, April 30th or May 1st during open hours 10AM-4PM. Jodi will be there April 30th from 1-4PM.

1.  Coffee Sketch, Tues. April 8th, 10am-noon.

Join us for our next Coffee Sketch meetup at Patrick's Bakery and Cafe inside Backman's Floral, Home, and Garden Center.

6010 Lyndale Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55419

Meet at 10am near the cafe seating. We will have a throwdown at 11:45am. There is a lovely greenhouse with lots of plants, a gift section, and a cafe. Parking available onsite.

2. Coffee Sketch, Wed. April 16th, beginning at 11am. Anderson Center Puppetry Exhibit in Red Wing

 

We are going to mix it up for this coffee sketch and head to a unique exhibit, Puppetry! In Minnesota!, at the Anderson Center at Tower View in Red Wing.

Artists practicing puppetry make use of a myriad of artistic forms to bring about on-stage and community-based magic. From marionettes controlled by strings to shadow puppets to larger-than-life wearable characters, Minnesota has long had one of the most vibrant puppetry communities in the country. Puppetry! In Minnesota!! provides a taste of this broad and wide-ranging artistic community.

Anderson Center Galleries are FREE to the public and open from 11am-4pm. We will meet at 11am and do our throw down at 1pm. Let's encourage car pooling! Hosted by Lisa Schlosser.

3. April Sketch Meet, Sunday, April 27th, 12-3pm. Heimie's Haberdashery in St. Paul. See March 17th post on this blog for details. This event is sold out.

 

Save The Date...

1. May Sketch Meet at Doors Open Minneapolis. We are doing 2 days this year to give people more flexibility. Sat. May 17th (10-12:30, Xcel Energy Hydroelectric Plant Water Power Park, Pillsbury A-Mill, Stone Arch Bridge) and Sun. May 18 (10-12:30, Coco LLC in the Minneapolis Grain Exchange). Watch for more details in a few weeks.

2. Bonus Event on Saturday, June 7th-- Red Wing Sketch Walk, hosted by USk Chippewa Valley and anyone from USk TC who wants to go/and or help host. 10am-2:30pm. This is the planned event from last year that we had to cancel due to flooding.
