Urban Sketchers Twin Cities--SAVE the DATES for these great Dec./January sketch events! 

 

-Sun. 12/1, 12-3pm- Our friends at Metrosketchers have invited us to sketch at the Minnesota Museum of American Art, see their FB page for more info.

-Sunday, 12/15, 12-3pm--December Sketch Meet/Open House at Squirrel Haus Arts in Minneapolis. Members who went to the USk symposium in Buenos Aires will be sharing sketches, videos, photos, and stories+ there are things to sketch. Watch for more details soon.

-Mid-January-- Bakken Museum Reception for our show! Watch for details.

-Sunday 1/19, 12-3pm-- January Sketch Meet at U of MN CBS Conservatory and Botanical Collection, St. Paul. We went last year and had a blast, so we are going again!

-Sunday, 1/26, 12-3pm-- Our friends at Metrosketchers have invited us to their annual Portrait Party at Wet Paint in St. Paul. See their FB page for more info.

 

OTHER NEWS.....

 

 We had 50+ sketchers at the Bakken Museum and tons of great sketches!

 

1. BAKKEN EXHIBIT REMINDER-- All sketches need to be completed and turned into the Bakken museum by this Sunday December 1st to be in the show. Jodi plans on being there from 1-4PM to take in artwork. All artwork needs to have the artist's name and email on the back. If you need to go to the Bakken to finish up this week, just show up during open hours. You don't have to call ahead of time.

 

2. Save the Dates for December Coffee Sketches

-Friday, Dec. 6, Clapping Monkey Coffee in Fridley, Mn, 10 a.m. to noon. Co-hosted by Becky Carroll Steffens.

-Wednesday, Dec. 18, Rosedale Mall, Rosedale, Mn, 10 a.m. to noon.

Also, as we have grown in number so much that I can use a volunteer to help me meet and greet and help organize the 11;45 a.m. throw-downs. Also, we welcome all who have a good idea for a sketch to be a co-host. Contact me for more information. Happy Thanksgiving! Lori

 

3. We had a great turn-out sketching at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts last Friday! Thanks to all who came and for Lori Tolonen who organized the event!
