"Sketching Penang and Racine" with Kar-Keat Chong (Saturday, 10/26) and More!

1. "Sketching Penang and Racine" With Kar-Keat Chong

Don't miss a fun afternoon with Kar-Keat Chong as he re-caps the August AsiaLink sketch symposium in Penang, Malaysia, and Sketch Racine event in Wisconsin. Through Kar-Keat's beautiful sketches, stories, and tips, see how he shares these towns, one drawing at a time. Also, bring your sketch books if you want to sketch people as they listen.
When: this Saturday, October 26th, 2-4pm
Where: Kar-Keat's Studio: 1729 North 2nd Street Suite 301, Minneapolis, MN 55411.
Details: North 2nd Street is currently closed due to road construction so the best way to get to the building is to go on Washington Avenue North and turn onto 18th Avenue North. Once you go past the storage building, the studio building will be on your right. There is plenty of free street parking.

-The building entry is located in the parking lot through the one-story elevator vestibule with a glass door labeled ‘D'. Take the elevator up to the 3rd floor and Kar-Keat's studio is the first one on the right.

-Bring your own hot beverage in a travel mug, if you'd like. Coffee/water and treats will be available.

2. Bonus Sketch Event-- Old Cedar Ave. Bridge

When: Tuesday, October 22nd, 10am-noon

Where: 9551 Old Cedar Ave. South, Bloomington (parking lot)

What is a Bonus Sketch? It is when members offer to co-host a sketch in addition to our monthly and twice-a-month coffee sketches. @Clara Emma is co-hosting this out-door sketch at a beautiful trailhead and bridge that is part of the Minnesota Valley National Refuge. Many migratory and late-migratory birds can be found here in this beautiful setting. There is on-site parking and restrooms. Plan accordingly as weather systems are sketchy this time of year. Hope to see you there and that the weather is fair!

 

3. Coffee Sketch at Dunn Brothers Coffee, Loring Park, Minneapolis

When: Wednesday, October 30th, 10am-12pm

Where: 329 W 15th St, Minneapolis, MN 55403-2468

We’ll meet inside Dunn Brothers for the greeting and then you can choose to sketch in the coffee house or Loring Park across the street. Throw-down at 11:45 a.m. inside Dunn Brothers. Pay parking is available on the street. See you there!
