Hello, Urban Sketchers Twin Cities!
We are looking forward to some great sketching events these next weeks into October. Here's our lineup:
1. Coffee Sketch at Como Park Cafesjian's Carousel, St. Paul
When: Tuesday, September 24th, 10am-12noon.
Co-host
and sketcher Jef Inge is organizing this event. Jef is also a
volunteer operator for this venue. It opens to the public for rides at
11:00 a.m. Jef has offered free rides at 10:45 am. for the sketchers.
Bring your own coffee. If weather is poor, we’ll move the sketch out to the
Como Conservatory. See you Tuesday!

2. October Sketch Meet at Franconia Sculpture Park and Heart of the Beast Puppets.
When: Saturday, October 19th, 12:45-3:15pm. (Throw-down is 3pm)
Where: 29836 Saint Croix Trl, Shafer, MN 55074-9743
MEET-UP
LOCATION: White Gazebo to the left of main parking lot. It is in front
of the white house, opposite of gallery building.
-Sketchers welcome to stay for full event 1:00-6:00p.m.
-We
are invited to Franconia Sculpture Park for a day of sketching at the
October Event: Big Puppets! Big Sculptures! Activities throughout the
park! (see link here) -Franconia
has invited Heart of the Beast Theater Company (HOBT) and puppeteers to
animate a variety of large-scale puppets to interact with their
large-scale sculptures. As well as live dance, music and Halloween
hayrides. There should be some wonderfully fun sketch opportunities
with these large characters.
-This
event will be free to the public, with a suggested donation of $10 per
vehicle. Food trucks will sell food and beverages on site.

3. "Sketching Penang and Racine" With Kar-Keat Chong
When: Saturday, October 26th, 2-4pm
Save
the Date! Don't miss a fun afternoon with Kar-Keat Chong as he re-caps
the August AsiaLink sketch symposium in Penang, Malaysia, and Sketch
Racine event in Wisconsin. Through Kar-Keat's beautiful sketches,
stories, and tips, see how he shares these towns, one drawing at a time.

TBD. You can help us! If attending, please indicate you are "going" by emailing here and
then we'll find a location in the metro area based on # of attendees.
4. Metrosketchers At Lakewood Cemetery's Fall Colors Celebration
When: Sunday, October 20th, 12-3pm.
Where: 3600 Hennepin Ave. Minneapolis, MN 55408
Urban Sketchers Twin Cities has been invited to join our friends at Metrosketchers at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis to sketch at the Fall Colors Celebration! This Fall Colors Celebration open-house style event is free and open to all!

We enjoyed a fun afternoon sketching at the Milwaukee Avenue Historic District in Minneapolis on September 15th. It was great to see everyone there!
