Pimento Coffee Sketch (6/26), Historic Burwell House Sketching (7/10), and Sketching at the Hopkins Raspberry Festival (7/19)!

Hi Urban Sketchers Twin Cities! Don't miss these exciting upcoming sketch events beginning this Wednesday, June 26th!

1. Pimiento On The Lake Coffee Sketch

When: This Wednesday, June 26th, 10am-12pm

Where: Pimento on the Lake, 3000 Bde Maka Ska Parkway, Minneapolis, MN Coffee Sketch outdoors. Street parking a available. There is also a MPLS Parks pay-lot less than 1/4 mile from location. Pimento is on Bde Maka Ska lakefront and is part of the MPLS Parks system. (Their website states their address as 3000, Google maps, states 3010. You won’t miss it) There is a shade/rain shelter with tables and chairs and restrooms on location. The restaurant opens at 11:00, so bring your own coffee. What to sketch? The lake, the walkers and their strollers and dogs, sailboats, etc. Sorry for the short notice, but we were looking for a weather window and Wednesday looks picture perfect! Do note there are three Pimento locations in the metro. We are meeting at the one on Bde Maka Ska, formerly known as Lake Calhoun. Look forward to sketching together! 2. Historic Burwell House Coffee Sketch

When: Wednesday, July 10th, 10am-12pm

Where: 13209 E McGinty Rd E, Minnetonka, MN 55305, located in Minnetonka Mills Park

Join us for an outdoor coffee sketch at the Burwell House lawns in Minnetonka on Wednesday, July 10th from 10am-12pm. The Charles H. Burwell House is an 1883 Italianate Victorian home built by Charles and Mary Burwell. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Charles Burwell (1838-1917) was the secretary and manager of the Minnetonka Mills Company, first mill west of Minneapolis. Located just off Minnetonka Blvd at Plymouth Rd. The Burwell house is easily accessible from 494. On site parking is limited, but there is ample parking across MTKA Blvd. Bring your own coffee! Also there are two places nearby for lunch afterward if you wish, People’s Organic and cozy Station Pizza across the road. 3. Sketchwalk at The Hopkins Raspberry Festival
When Friday, July 19th, 6:30-8:30pm
 
The Raspberry Festival is a Twin Cities institution! This year marks its 90th anniversary. Hopkins is a historic town with an ever-growing art presence in the area.

Come sketch with us from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm, Friday, July 19th, to capture the Raspberry Festival scene and Hopkins iconic streets! The public is welcome to join us and we will have sketchbooks and sketching pencils if you need them. It is fun! No experience necessary.  If you already sketch, feel free to bring your own materials.

Urban Sketchers Twin Cities will provide an instructional demo at each of the sites and times:

6:30 pm - Clock Tower, 9th and Mainstreet

7:00 pm - World's Largest Raspberry, 21 8th Avenue North

7:30 pm - Hopkins Center for the Arts, 1111 Mainstreet

8:00 pm -8:30 pm - Zeller Studios, 1421 Mainstreet. There will not be a demonstration at this site. Instead, we will have a “Throwdown”, where we will share our sketches and visit about our experience sketching on location!
