A Sketch Evening With Kar-Keat Chong (6/6), Coffee Sketch (May 13th) and Doors Open Minneapolis (May 18th)

 

Hello Urban Sketchers Twin Cities-- we have some great events coming up in the next weeks, be sure to check them out!

1. A Demo And Sketch Evening With Kar-Keat Chong

When: Thursday, June 6th, 5:30-8:15pm

Where: Water Works Park, 425 W. River Parkway in Minneapolis

Urban Sketchers Twin Cities member and watercolor master Kar-Keat Chong will be offering a demo and sketch evening on Thursday, June 6th, in Minneapolis.
The Event
1. 5:30pm- Meet at Water Works Park (next door to Owamni) for a meet-and-greet. Kar-Keat will provide a 1-hour demo.
2. 6:30-8pm- Sketching at Water Works Park, Mills Ruins Park, and Stone Arch Bridge.
3. 8:00pm- Gather again at Water Works park for sharing sketches and a group photo.
The sketch meet will be re-scheduled if it rains.
The Location:
Water Works Park and Owamni are located at 425 W River Parkway in Minneapolis. There are many nearby parking options. Plenty of on site bike parking is available.

 2. Coffee Sketch at Bruegger's Bagels,  South Minneapolis

When: Monday, May 13th, 10am-noon

Where: 4554 Nicollet Ave. South, Minneapolis

This Bruegger’s is known as Station 27 as it is housed in a former fire station. It is a pretty brick structure with lovely tall windows. There are firefighting items of interest on the wall as well as the large display case of bagels. They have a small parking lot and on-street parking. All sketching mediums are welcome. They open at 6:00 a.m. if you want to arrive early. I may be out of town that day and trust one of the regulars will help greet newcomers and handle the throw-down and photograph. If it’s a nice day, bring a stool and sketch outdoors! ~Lori Tolonen

When: Saturday, May 18th, 10am-5pm

5. Save The Date for the Red Wing Sketch Crawl

Urban Sketchers Chippewa Valley will be partnering with us for this fun event in a great river town!

When: Saturday, June 22nd, 10am-2pm. (Rain date- June 23rd). Watch for details soon! 

 

Recent Event-- We had a blast sketching at the Science Museum of Minnesota on May 4th. Many thanks to the museum and Lisa Schlosser for organizing this event!
