March Sketch Meet at MN Firefighters Museum (3/16, 12-3pm), Coffee/Sketch (2/28) and More!

 

Hello Urban Sketchers Twin Cities!

We have lots of exciting things coming our way, so check out the following opportunities...

1. Join Us For Our March Sketch Meet:
 

When: Saturday, March 16, 12-3pm
Where: MN Firefighters Museum, 664 22nd Ave NE, Minneapolis, MN 55418

What to Expect:
Explore and sketch over 12,000 sq. ft. of historic items from Minnesota fire departments dating back to the 1860's. They also feature a Minneapolis Police Museum section.

Admission: There is an admission for this event to support the museum. The cost is $7 per person. The senior rate is $6. Children under 12 $4.

Parking: The entrance to the museum is located on the parking lot side. The admission desk is located next to that main door. Pay your admission, and we will gather at noon at the large table located in the room in back of the admission counter.

Directions:
The MN Firefighters Museum is located 2 blks south of Lowry Ave NE at the intersection of 22nd Ave & Madison St in NE Minneapolis. From I-94 take the Broadway St exit. Go east on Broadway 1 mile to Washington St. Go north on Washington St to 22nd Ave NE. Go east 1 block.

2. February 28th Coffee Sketch Meet:

When: Wednesday, February 28, 10am-12pm

Where: 515 Washington Ave. N, Minneapolis, Website: https://www.noloskitchen.com/

NOLO is a restaurant in the historic Gardner Hardware store, located in the Maytag Co. building. We have two tables for up to 15 people reserved. After that seating is on your own. Parking is metered-street parking. Also, across the street is Backstory Coffee Roasters. Sketchers who didn’t make it to last week’s sketch can check them out, too, before or after! Thank you all who are making these events inspiring. This will be our fourth coffee sketch of this year. Our goal is to have two a month throughout the metro. Days of the week will vary with the hope of creating morning sketch opps for all who desire. We have been seeing 11-15 sketchers at the events. Hosted by Lori Tolonen.

3. Save the Date for Spring Events: 

-April-- being arranged, details to come soon.

-Science Museum of MN- Save the date (May 4th at 12pm) for a sketching event at the Science Museum of Minnesota in St Paul. More details to follow. May the 4th be with you!

-May Sketch Walk at Doors Open Minneapolis- Sat. May 18th, in Minneapolis. Likely hours: 10am-5pm. Watch for details to come.
