Hello Urban Sketchers Twin Cities! 

Check out our upcoming events next week:

1. Coffee and Sketching at Spyhouse Coffee

When: Friday, February 2nd, 10am-12pm

Where: Spyhouse Coffee, 2451 Nicollet Ave., Minneapolis, Mn. 

Details: Use street parking. There is not a dedicated lot. The building is old brick and features full windows on two sides to let in plenty light and provide street views, too. Plenty of seating in a fairly large space. MIA, the American Swedish Institute and Eat Street Crossing are all nearby in case you have an urge to visit or do more sketching.

2. Let's Share-- "Loosen Up Your Sketches!" (Zoom Event)

 

When: Thursday, February 1st, 7-8 pm (on Zoom)

Details:

1. Dig out your urban sketches (done on location, not from photos or memory) where you have tried to work more loosely. Examples: using continuous lines, sketching with non-dominant hand, lost edges, holding pen loosely, using limited color, etc... If you haven't tried these things but are looking for ideas, join us!

2. Post 2 sketches on the Discussion tab of this event on our Urban Sketchers Twin Cities Facebook page by 7pm on February 1st. You do not have to post sketches to join this event.

3. Join us at the Zoom link at 7pm to share and get tips. Hope you can join us!

We had a wonderful turnout at our recent Sketch meet at the U of M Plant Facilities and Botanical collection in St. Paul. Great fun was had by all sketching plants, people, and whatever grabbed our attention! Thanks to all organizers for this fantastic event!
