Reminder: Bakken Exhibit Submissions Closing Soon

Submissions to The Bakken Museum, The Show, and Urban Sketchers Twin Cities exhibit will be accepted through Thursday August 3rd. Please don't miss this chance to share your Bakken museum sketches!

This exhibit and its partners have great alignment with Urban Sketchers' drive to, "show the world, one drawing at a time." The Bakken's mission is to inspire a passion for innovation by exploring the potential for science, technology, and the humanities to make the world a better place. The Show seeks to create accessibility in the arts, and to promote and unite artists of all abilities. What a great exhibition team!

DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP OF SKETCHES Artists are responsible for dropping off artwork to the Bakken Museum and for picking up the artwork at the end of the exhibit during the specified drop off and pick up times below. Artists will also need to fill out and sign a separate Artist Agreement for the Bakken/The Show (provided at the Bakken) when dropping off sketches. 

• Drop-off/Pick Up site is located at the lobby of the Bakken Museum, 3537 Zenith Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55416.   
• Drop off days: Wednesday, August 2, from 10AM-2PM and Thursday, August 3, from 2-4PM. 
• Pick up days: Thursday, November 30, and Friday December 1. A notice will go out prior to the end of the show with a reminder of pick up days and times. 

EXHIBIT DATES Sketches will remain on display at the Bakken Museum from August 13- November 30, 2023. 

SKETCH DETAILS Sketches are to be no larger than 12”x18”, un-matted and unframed. You may submit up to 2 original sketches (done on location, not from photos or memory) and we’ll work to accommodate at least 1 sketch per person, based upon space availability and selection by the Bakken curators. HOW TO ENTER Read all information, fill out and sign the entry form, and fill out the exhibit ID tag(s) and affix to each sketch entered. There’s no entry fee, no judging, jurying, sales, or awards for this exhibit. 

RECEPTION The Bakken Museum will be hosting an opening exhibit reception on Sunday, August 13, from 2-4PM. Light refreshments provided.
