UMN College of Design - Sketching Minneapolis 2 February

Two members of our chapter are leading a sketching outing for the University of Minnesota College of Design's Design Student & Alumni Board and our chapter is invited to participate!

"Sketching Minneapolis
Saturday, Feb 2, 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Start: Guthrie Theater, 818 S 2nd Street, Minneapolis
End: Open Book, 1011 Washington Ave S, Minneapolis (café)

From napkin doodlers to plein air masters, Urban Sketching is a growing movement that brings together folks with a common passion – they like to draw the world around them! Join local urban sketcher aficionados Dan Green and Amber Sausen for a winter sketch session on the Minneapolis riverfront. Our mid-morning session will start at the Guthrie Theater with its panoramic views of St. Anthony Falls and the downtown business district. Then we will move to the Mill City Museum for some close-up views of the city’s industrial past. We will end the session with a stroll over to Open Book Center for Literary Arts – warming up and perking up with caffeinated beverages, artisanal baked goods, and richly layered interior vistas.

Supplies: Bring your favorite drawing medium – pencil, color pencil, charcoal, ink, watercolor or crayon… A medium or large sized sketchbook. A bag or tote to carry things. Warm clothes (if the weather cooperates there will be options to draw outside). A little cash for coffee or lunch.
