T.C. Sketchers Reboot Off to a Good Start!
Twin Cities Urban Sketchers met at Saint Paul's Union Depot last Sunday for a sketch-out and meeting afterwards to talk about the future of TC Urban Sketchers.
We had a lot of fun sketching together and we got to eat some goodies people brought including these awesome Urban Sketchers cupcakes (thanks, Amber & Daniel!).

Thanks to everyone who helped and participated. If you haven't already shared your sketches on this blog or on our Facebook Page, please do. If you need help posting your sketches, let me know.
There are several awesome groups that meet and sketch in the Twin Cities. TC Urban Sketchers, being the local franchise of the worldwide Urban Sketchers movement has a different flavor to add to the mix. Through our blog and social media, we hope to keep local sketchers informed about seminars, events and other news coming through the global Urban Sketchers. At Sunday's meeting, Amber, Daniel and Cris talked about the upcoming 2016 Urban Sketchers seminar in Manchester, England. Cris will our correspondent to the 1st Urban Sketching Meeting in Brazil in April (more about that in a future post). We will also try to inform members of visits of notable sketchers that visit the Twin Cities. A suggestion was made to put links to connect to Urban Sketchers resources on the blog, for example the excellent "Drawing Attention" (you can subscribe to Drawing Attention at this link). I'll add links to the sidebar soon.
Roz talked about our annual sketch-out at the MInnesota State Fair which will be led by Marty Harris this year. The consensus of the group was to try having sketch-outs the third weekend on either a Saturday or Sunday depending on what works best for the group. We talked about places we want to sketch and some folks wanted to sketch outside in the brief, but glorious warm season here in Minnesota. There may be special sketch-outs at concerts, events and festivals and virtual sketch-outs like the Midwest Urban Sketchers have. We may even try sketching at night using book lights. We'll also share information on books, techniques and materials to improve our sketching. If you have more questions, suggestions or ideas, please share them in the comments or on the TC Urban Sketchers Facebook page or contact me.
And the next TC Sketchers sketch-out will be Saturday, April 16th at Saint Anthony Main and the Xcel Energy Water Power Park in Minneapolis. I'll have more info on that in a week or so. Thanks again!
