Sketching Dave, My Barber

The Urban Sketchers motto is "We show the world, one drawing at a time". This is a drawing I did Friday at the barber shop, that I hope shows something special that happened in my world.  My regular barber, Dave was giving a woman a haircut... all of it. She was undergoing chemotherapy. I wanted to capture Dave's concentration and compassion as he removed what was left of the woman's hair.

After Dave shaved her head, the woman opened a box she brought with her and put a new hat on her bald head, smiled and admired herself in the mirror. Dave did a great job.
