Open Streets Minneapolis 2012

With battering winds, broiling sun and blistering heat, our sketch-out for Open Streets Mpls 2012 on Lyndale Avenue turned into an extreme sketching event too brutal except for the few brave souls who showed up to document it in sketchbooks and journals - Jeanne Kosfeld, Roberta Avidor and myself. Jeanne Kosfeld (see Jeanne's blog here) did some fun sketches (click to make the sketches bigger):

Here's Roberta's sketches:

And here are my sketches in both journals:

Here's a map Roberta made before Open Streets that shows where we were sketching:

Comments

  1. Ken I love all these sketches and the map. I wish I had not been wounded and could have joined you. I did stand near my window for a few moments and sketch an "urban" scene to be present in spirit!

  3. Very nice! I was the guy in the tweed suit in Roberta's last panel, and boasting my posterior in the folding contest. Do you and/or Roberta make your sketches available in some sort of printed version?
