Race Day

Race Day in Grandview, Wisconsin

While anticipating the morning's bike race, I caught a peaceful moment of sketching a small out building in the tiny town of Grandview. That kitty was very eager to get inside.

The whole town comes out as volunteers for this annual bike race to benefit their fire department; and they're a friendly crowd to be a part of. These two race marshalls had an especially critical spot on the highway as the peleton approached.

Women and children waited for their cyclists to finish.

We viewed the race on course at Drummond before heading back to the cities. Sharing the tension with the local police department as they prepared for the mass of riders was another entertaining story to watch unfold.
